These gorgeous screens are made from stain-grade maple and finished by hand. You can choose your favorite pattern and the exact size that you need from their lineup. These could be used beautifully as sliding doors, pocket doors, room dividers, mounted screens… or whatever!

Travel trailers come in many different sizes, luxury levels, price ranges and styles. Some people love their RVs. It’s literally a home away from him for them. My stance on camping and travel trailers are a bit different thought… I want to experience the environment I’m in while having a safe and clean place to lay my head at night.

While flipping through Dwell this weekend I found the cutest, most versatile little travel trailer camper EVER! Super compact and built based on both man-made and ancient animal technology, the Cricket Trailer is your little home on the go!

It’s affordable (ranging from 10k-18k), stowable and towable, environmentally friendly and raring to go on your next outdoor adventure. The Cricket’s shell is made from light aluminum composite panels, pops open with a single simple latch and is uber-lightweight, compact and athletic trailer.

Talk about small spaces…. this soon to be developed uber-tiny crib is likely as wide as my bathroom and only as tall as a two story house. Not enough living space for me, but what a NEAT and space-saving idea!
“Keret House is a project envisioned by Jakub Szczęsny of Centrala, soon to be developed in a narrow void between the buildings on 22 Chłodna Street and 74 Żelazna Street in the district of Wola, Poland. Keret House is said to have an interior that will vary between 122 centimeters and 72 centimeters, making it an extremely narrow crib. With a total area of 14,5 square meters, the new house will accommodate a workspace as well as a guest studio.”

Tiny, tight and shaped like an elongated teardrop, this new home-space could be just the right place for the super minimalist!

Black is the new white. It’s totally fresh, extremely BOLD and a fantastically daring design statement. I first became intrigued with using black as an interior, and exterior color, via the lovely Anna Dorfman’s blog, Door Sixteen. Since then, I’ve seen black popping up everywhere on design blogs, TV and in people’s homes. Morbid, dark and scary it’s definitely not. WebUrbanist.com put together a great collection of black interiors and design concepts that just might make you reconsider your beige on white motif.

Long gone are the days when putting down tile in your kitchen or bath is all about function and less about design aesthetic. I love the retro 50′s pink bathrooms bathed in tile from floor to ceiling, but these days tile options offer a little more pizazz for your project.
Urban Home Magazine put together a great little feature on tile accents (like ceramic, porcelain, tile, glass… and more), like jewelry for your home, that can really add some wow factor.

Sometimes my favorites things about a house are the old bits, all the pieces that still bear the craftmanship and aesthetic of a much different time decades ago. That’s why I was delighted to read Pam Kueber’s guide to ornamental metal porch columns at RetroRenovation.com.

Those mid-century modern ornamental metal porch columns that are prevalent on 50s and 60s houses predominantly are one of my absolute favorite parts of that era of homes. To me they tell a story, and display a certain attitude and design sense of that time.

Pam shares the top few companies that she found in her research that make and sell these sorts of columns. The post is also a great educational article on how they’re made, when to use them and how to find out more about them! Thanks Pam!
